Nat Luurtsema
Nat began as a stand-up comic in 2007 and was nominated for the Chortle Best Newcomer Award in her first 6 months.
She, Dan Antopolski and Tom Craine formed the sketch group, Jigsaw, and they performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, on BBC3 and had two series of their own show on Radio 4.
Nat was series writer on Stand Up For The Week (Ch4, Off The Kerb) and Fake Reaction (ITV, STV). She moved into screenwriting and filmmaking and her first film, Island Queen, was nominated for a BAFTA.
Nat is about to direct her second short film, War Paint, written by Yasmine Akram, produced by Diarmuid Hughes and backed by Creative England´s Emerging Talent fund.
Nat´s first book, a comedy memoir, was published in 2013. Her second book, a Young Adult novel, prompted a five-way bid between publishers and lead to a two-book deal with Walker Books. She is now developing her fourth book, another Young Adult novel.
Nat regularly writes feature screenplays and adapts novels for the screen. She has several projects in development as writer/director/actor.
