From co-founding the world famous improvisation group The Comedy Store Players with Mike Myers, through to appearing on the likes of Have I Got News For You, Smith and Jones, Whose Line Is It Anyway, Austin Powers (International Man of Mystery and Goldmember), I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, Lovejoy, Saturday Live, Carrott Confidential, Paul Merton The Series, Spiceworld The Movie and QI, Neil Mullarkey has worked with some of the most talented names in comedy, film, radio and television.

Elected president of the influential Cambridge Footlights at the beginning of his career, Neil has gone on to appear in Then Again (a revue with Dawn French and Sheila Hancock), Charley’s Aunt (alongside Eric Sykes and Christopher Biggins) and Ugly Rumours (in which he played a Prime Minister called Tony). Neil starred with Eddie Izzard in the sell-out West End run of One Word Improv, has guested with The Groundlings in Los Angeles and Second City in Toronto, and has written and performing various acclaimed one-man shows including A Bit of Quiet Fun, Memoirs of Lord Naughty, All That Mullarkey and Don’t Be Needy Be Succeedy. He has also done three double-acts, with Mike Myers, Nick Hancock and Tony Hawks.

With Don’t Be Needy Be Succeedy winning the Fringe Report Award for Best Satire during a legendary run at the Edinburgh Festival, Neil’s alter ego life coach, self-help guru and Gangsta Motivator, L.Vaughan Spencer, has gone on to publish the book “Don’t Be Needy Be Succeedy; the A to Zee of Motivality”, has written and starred in instructional videos for LearnDirect (the government’s post-school learning service), has toured throughout the UK and Ireland, has appeared on Yoodoo (a website for people starting their own business), and has even featured in April Fool viral videos for The Economist in 2010 and Microsoft in 2011. He can currently be spotted offering Fast Therapy on the ‘bumper-break’ (sponsor idents) for Nicorette on Dave, the UKTV channel.

Neil co-wrote the BBC1 sitcom Morris Minor’s Marvellous Motors with Tony Hawks, and co wrote The Amazing Colossal Show with Greg Proops for BBC2. He hosted American Freak for America’s Comedy Central TV, directed the hit West End interactive comedy whodunit Scissor Happy, hosted Missed Demeanours on Radio Four, was a regular performer on Bits from Last Week’s Radio, and co-wrote and starred in FAB TV.

Neil has also appeared on Just a Minute, The News Quiz, Quote…Unquote, I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue, Loose Ends and In Touch. In 1995 he wrote and presented the documentary Ten Years of the Comedy Store Players.
