Rita is an open-minded, creative personality who took a circuitous path towards acting, keeping up performing while graduating from university. Trained in several dance styles (including samba, street dance, dance theatre, contemporary modern and ballroom), singing styles (jazz, blues, gospel, “white“ voice) and acting (in workshops as diverse as Method, text-based reciting, improvisation, physical theatre, Grotowski´s laboratory and mime), Rita´s work style is represented by both a deep understanding of text and a need to work from the body.
Her first professional experience was the touring theatre, Creative Group Bez Vat (“VAT-Free“, based on Grotowski´s laboratory method), where, in addition to acting, she was writing, singing and devising, eventually becoming the assistant director. After the group has split she worked individually, devising and performing several monodramas. Since arriving in London in June 2012, Rita has worked with Bubble and Squeak Collective, led by Paul McNeilly, where she performed in industry showcases and also presented her own English-language writing (06/2012 - 06/2013). She has also been developing her career as a model and a dancer, most notably in Channel 4 Trailer for Winter Olympics in Sochi. Currently she is preparing to present her new writing as a part of Scrawny Cat Theatre´s event, Scrawl.
